Leaders Who Don't Get It
By Tom Welch
This week alone, I’ve been made aware of another three leaders who don’t get it.
- The CEO of a recognizable company with franchises around the world who has flawed ethics and is not getting results. His whole leadership team wants out.
- A Vice President of a major, international company rules by fear and “do it my way.” His people are even afraid to say good morning to him.
- The local General Manager for a major service company. It's summer temperatures in Florida and he won’t fix the air-conditioning in his drivers’ trucks because it’s too expensive. Service is cut short and customers leave. How expensive is that?
Bad leaders exist in large and small companies alike. That’s why we (R.I.C.) spend so much time and effort assessing the “right” leaders as we help our clients find extraordinary executives. It makes such a difference.
